Solution: Whether or not any software complies with security regulation under HIPAA depends on how access to the software and the patient information associated with the use of the software is protected. Our software is designed to prevent unauthorized access through the use of a username and a password. In addition, in versions 6.4 and later, ReDoc Suite has an auditing component that tracks user activity by time and date stamp. It is the responsibility of the ReDoc client under HIPAA to develop the appropriate internal policies and procedures to protect access to patient information whether paper or electronic.
